Use AIM® to Send a Picture to a Mobile Number!

Exchanging pictures on your mobile phone is a great way to share with friends and family. Now throw your computer into the mix! Using AIM® 5.9, 6.8 or higher, you can now send pictures from your computer to your buddy's mobile number!

(U.S. T-Mobile subscribers can currently receive pictures from AIM®)

Several Ways to IM Pictures to Mobile

Do you know your buddy's mobile number? That's all you need!

Open a new IM window with the mobile number and remember to include a "+1" in front for the country code. Example: "+15551112222"

In AIM® 5.9, click on the 'Send Photos' button. When your buddy accepts your "Direct IM" connection, simply drag a picture (JPEG or GIF) from your computer into the box where you normally type your message and click 'Send.' Your picture will be on its way! If you keep your IM conversation window open, your buddy can even send pictures back to you from their phone.

In AIM® 6.8, click on the 'Pictures' button. A Picture Sharing window will appear and when your buddy accepts your "Direct IM" connection, simply drag a picture from your computer into the sharing window and off it goes! If you keep your Picture Sharing window open, your buddy can even send pictures back to you from their phone.

Pictures are sent from AIM® to mobile phones as "Picture Messages" (MMS) and can take seconds to minutes to reach your mobile buddy.
